Fair Trade Coffee

St. Jude's is now serving organic, shade-grown, Fair Trade Coffee. Shade-grown coffees are grown in jungle environments. The coffee bushes are grown under a shade canopy made up of a variety of trees and there are often companion plantings of tropical fruit trees. This means the plantations can support great local and migrating bird populations. The coffee is also certified organic. No pesticide or artificial fertilizers are used. The coffee is also certified under the Fair Trade standard. This means that the farmers receive better than market returns for their coffee and support from the Fair Trade organizations.

Fair Trade Coffee at Home

If you would like to order our Fair Trade coffee, an order form is available in the kitchen. The packaging has been customized with a beautiful photograph of St. Jude's, in 70g, 140g and 300g packages. Use it at home - it also makes a wonderful gift!
