St. Jude's Justice and Ministries invites your participation in addressing an important justice issue facing our most vulnerable neighbours. 

At a recent meeting of the J&SM team, there was a discussion of a provincial advocacy campaign to increase Ontario Works benefits, since these  have not changed in eight years.  A campaign has been launched by the Income Security Advocacy Center (ISAC)  and is supported by a number of Oakville organizations.

One startling fact is that the annual income for a single person on OW is $8,786 and the deep poverty level for a single person in Halton Region was - a couple of years ago - $19,983.
